Queensland Principal Cycle Network Update

You are invited to have your say on Queensland's Principal Cycle Network.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is seeking community input to the review of the Principal Cycle Network for Queensland.

The network lays out a blueprint for the core bicycle riding routes needed to encourage more Queenslanders to ride, more often. Routes on the network are indicative only and help to guide future planning and investment in Queensland's transport network.

The Principal Cycle Network is being reviewed to ensure it reflects current and future demand and continues to be an effective guide for further planning for safe, connected, high-quality bicycle infrastructure across Queensland.

The review also includes expanding the network to 14 additional local government areas.

Share your feedback through our online consultation where you can use an interactive map to view the Principal Cycle Network and provide:

  • comments about the network in your local area or other locations across Queensland
  • input to the development of new Principal Cycle Network routes in local government areas that are outside of the current network.

Your comments and feedback are important and will help ensure the updated network identifies the key future links needed to encourage Queenslanders to make the choice to ride in their communities in the future.
