Superyacht Buoy Mooring Trial Brisbane River Consultation

Maritime Safety Queensland are proposing to implement a superyacht buoy mooring trial from mid-2020. The trial will run for 12 months.

The superyacht mooring will be located in Town Reach of the Brisbane River (below the Kangaroo Point Cliffs), providing convenient access to the Brisbane CBD and facilities.

Superyachts are a high-value market which have the potential to deliver strong flow-on economic benefits for the state. In South East Queensland, superyachts are expected to contribute more than $1.1 billion to gross state product.

This consultation is seeking feedback from Kangaroo Point residents and the public about the location and the superyacht buoy mooring in general.
