Have you say on the draft master plan for the priority Port of Gladstone

You are invited to have your say on the Queensland Government’s draft master plan for the priority Port of Gladstone.

The master plan sets out the long-term plan for the sustainable development of the priority Port of Gladstone until the year 2050.

The master plan outlines the strategic vision, objectives, desired outcomes and state interests and includes the environmental management framework for the priority Port of Gladstone master planned area.

Master planning for the priority ports of Gladstone, Abbot Point, Townsville and Hay Point/Mackay is a requirement under the Sustainable Ports Development Act 2015 and an initiative of the Reef 2050 Long-Term Sustainability Plan.

You have the opportunity to make a submission on the draft master plan. Submissions will be considered during the preparation of the final master plan and the master planned area.

Submissions close at 5.00 pm on Monday 9 October 2017.

The draft master plan can be viewed at sustainable port development on the Department of State Development website.

Making a submission

Submissions on the draft master plan must:

  • be made in writing
  • be made to the Minister
  • be received on or before Monday 9 October 2017
  • state the name and contact details (email and/or postal address) of each person making the submission
  • be sent via email
