Review of the Wet Tropics Management Plan

Have your say about the management of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

The Authority is reviewing the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998.

The Plan is subordinate legislation that protects the Wet tropics World Heritage Area through a zoning scheme and permit system. It regulates activities within the area which may have an impact on World Heritage values and integrity. These activities are pimarily those which may affect ecosystems, vegetation, soils, waterways and scenic values.

There will be two rounds of consultation to inform the plan review.

Submissions for round one consultations close 30 June 2017.

All submission will be carefully considered and used to prepare a draft amended plan which will be released for a second round of consultation in 2018.
