  • Building a best-practice child protection litigation model

The Queensland Government is reviewing the current child protection litigation model. The child protection litigation model is the process that starts at the point at which government staff responsible for child protection consider that a change is required in the family, to ensure a child’s safety. It includes what workers do and how they do it as a child’s case progresses through early work with the family and legal and/or court proceedings that are required to keep the child protected. The litigation model stops when legal intervention is no longer required. The litigation model sits within the broader child protection system.
