Queensland
Office for Economic and Statistical Research - regional Queensland (Queensland Treasury). Provides regional, Statistical Division, and Local Government Area profiles, including population growth, regional crime statistics, building approvals, basic demographics.
Queensland Household Survey - limited results are available online.
Australia
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) provides both free and fee-based information. Statistical information for Statistical Local Areas is more likely to be free. Some information is available for Local Government Areas. National Reports, such as the General Social Survey, are also available.
The ABS includes the Rural and Regional Statistics National Centre. The RRSNC has been specifically established to produce and disseminate data that will assist policy analysts and researchers study the underlying causes of change across rural, regional and remote areas of Australia.
