Regional research
There are many issues of relevance to engaging with regional Queensland being investigated internationally, nationally, and regionally. This section provides links to research reports, to research on evaluation and reporting outcomes, and to information on significant issues currently being researched. Links to major research organisations that regularly engage in regional research are also provided. These links are by no means comprehensive; rather they are responsive to needs and issues being identified in Queensland regions.- Research reports
- Individual research institutions provide links to their research reports, many of which are available on-line. Only reports with strategic relevance are included here. Reports of high relevance to specific and significant issues are listed in the 'Current Issues' section.
- Evaluation / Reporting Outcomes
- Evaluation, monitoring, and reporting are critical aspects of understanding regional issues and implementing engagement strategies. Resources and guides to support evaluation and reporting in general are being developed by Community Engagement & Development Policy.
- Current issues for regions
- The Ministerial Regional Community Forums held throughout regional Queensland facilitate the tabling of issues of particular significance to regions. These issues can be grouped into several themes. Research, sites, and other indicative links that relate to these themes are included here.
- Research Institutions
- There are many research institutions within Australia that conduct studies of regional significance. This list is not exhaustive and does not imply endorsement. The sites usually provide links to researchers, contact details, and publications.

This section provides links to discussion on specific policy concepts that may be of interest to regional decision-makers. -
Regional strategy, planning and development
Strategy, planning and development are key challenges when dealing with the complex issues facing Queensland regions. Links are provided in this section to reports and research that might inform strategic planning and development processes and to practical resources. - Regional statistics
Strong, valid, and up-to-date information is vital if we are to engage meaningfully. Links provided here are to sites providing public and largely free statistical information. -
Newsletters
Newsletters are provided by many organisations that are relevant to regional stakeholders. There are links here to a few 'clearinghouse' type newsletters. -

This section includes links to some of the Queensland Government policies with regional significance. -
Resources and links available to support regional engagement
Resources and links supporting engagement are continually being developed by Community Engagement & Development Policy. A primary resource is the e-Connect bulletin. Other resources and links that relate specifically to regional engagement are provided here.
