- La Luna Youth Art
La Luna Youth Arts has undertaken two youth-theatre-in-education shows which encourage young people to use their ideas and opinions as the basis from which to develop their own stories, scenes, movement pieces and other forms of expression. - Minimizing Road Trauma: An Action Research Project - William Ross State High School
William Ross State High School's Senior Geography Composite Class has been studying Social Environments, particularly the issue of road trauma in Townsville and its economic, political, social and environmental impacts using action research processes. - Speak Out 2003: Bridges - North, Far North and North West Youth Council Conference
Youth Towers (Charters Towers Youth Council) members attended a Speak Out Conference for Youth Councils in 2003 at Gayndah (Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast area). Given the tyranny of distance, Youth Towers decided that they would like to organise a similar event in North Queensland as often, these events are held in southern regions and are not very accessible for young people. - Palm Island Community Youth Centre Consultation Process
In May 2002, a survey of Palm Islanders was conducted to gather information about possible uses and preferred activities for a Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) Community Youth Centre. Two surveys were administered - one for families and households and one for children and young people. Surveys were administered by local interviewers in local community settings such as shops and schools as well as in people's homes. - District Youth Achievement Plan - Young People's Working Party
District Youth Achievement Plans (DYAP) are an initiative within the Queensland Government's Education and Training Reforms for the Future (ETRF). They set local targets for participation, retention and attainment in education, training or employment programs. The ETRF protocols suggested that two young people be selected to participate in the DYAP Management Committee. - Young Achievement Enterprise Education Program
Young Achievement Australia (YAA) provides upper primary, secondary and tertiary students with innovative and entrepreneurial programs designed to develop skills which enable the students to make a successful transition from studies to the workplace. Business Skills is an accredited, cross-disciplinary program aligned with the Certificate II in Business which teaches students the skills and knowledge that underpin real-world commercial success.
