- Mackay Highlands Coordinating Committee
This case study describes an initiative to coordinate community engagement in relation to park and forest planing processes and the identification and promotion of environmentally sustainable tourism opportunities within the Clarke-Connors Ranges. A key outcome of this Committee has been the development and adoption of a Strategic Plan for the Mackay Highlands. - Queensland Marine Academy
This case study is an example of community reaching into Government to establish quality, accessible marine training for industry and structured accredited pathways for people to access employment, largely within existing resources. - Mackay Childhood Injury Prevention Project
This case study is an example of government reaching out to community members through a regional project linked to a broader multi-agency initiative. The project involves Human Service agencies working in partnership with private sector Stakeholders, local government, tertiary institutions and community groups to increase community awareness of home safety practices and reduce the incidence of childhood injuries. - Mackay Alcohol and Other Drugs Partnership
The Mackay Alcohol and Other Drugs Community Partnership (MAODCP) is an example of how State Government has increased the community's engagement in decision making and the design and delivery of programs and services.
