The Queensland Government uses reference or advisory groups to consult with individuals and communities. Reference groups are usually made up of government officers, community members and industry representatives. If you are not on a reference group you can connect with people on a reference committee to inform them of your issues of concern.
Parliamentary Committees call for public written submissions (advertised in the newspaper) or hold public hearings to help them understand an issue or learn what the community thinks. They report their findings to Parliament so that Parliament operates more effectively and makes the right decisions.
Ministerial Regional Community Forums provide Queenslanders living in regional areas with at least four opportunities to bring issues of concern to the attention of the Queensland Government each year.
