Smart State Future Directions

The Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation prepared Smart State Future Directions: Smart Economy, Smart Jobs to stimulate public thinking about how we can turn the emerging technologies and ideas of today into the growth sectors and jobs of tomorrow.

Public consultation ran from 15 November to 13 December 2011. The consultation process included:

  • round table discussions with a targeted mix of senior representatives of industry, business, research, government and regional development organisations,
  • a geographic spread of discussions across Brisbane and five regional locations,
  • an online survey available through Get Involved.

Read the results from the consultations on the DEEDI website.
