The purpose of Engaging Queenslanders: Community engagement in the business of government is to provide practical guidance to improving community engagement in policy development and planning processes.

This resource identifies opportunities for agencies to improve their engagement practices and capabilities. It provides valuable guidance to those planning, approving and implementing engagement activities and programs.

It also examines the organisational and cultural changes required within government agencies to achieve sustainable improvements in community engagement. Importantly, it highlights the responsibilities of Government Ministers and agency senior managers in developing and implementing systems supportive of improved engagement.
