Have your say on the future of fishing in the Gulf of Carpentaria
The Gulf of Carpentaria Inshore Finfish Fishery is now under review. An Issues and Options Paper (PDF, 342KB), response form (PDF, 291KB), barramundi background paper (PDF, 229KB) and the offshore net fishery background paper have been prepared to assist you in commenting on the management arrangements for the fishery.

State Schools of Tomorrow – Brisbane Bayside Project
Brisbane Bayside is amongst the first Queensland communities to benefit from the State Schools of Tomorrow initiative. Over the next four years, upwards of $100 million is set to be invested in Brisbane Bayside state schools to transform them into modern learning environments and increase educational opportunities for young people in the area. The project involves a four month community consultation program and covers an area that encompasses 13 state schools across the Wynnum Manly area.

Moratorium to protect koala habitat
Koalas in South East Queensland are under serious threat from development, cars, dogs and disease. In December 2008, the Queensland Government introduced the Koala Response Strategy committing to a number of planning and management actions to protect South East Queensland’s koalas.

Coal Seam Gas Water Management in Queensland

The Queensland Government recently made a number of policy decisions about the management of coal seam gas (CSG) water. These decisions will deliver more environmentally sustainable outcomes and encourage greater beneficial use of CSG water.


Now government wants you to have your say on specific policy issues particularly government's position that the CSG industry will be required to develop and fund a CSG water aggregation and disposal system or systems to deal with excess CSG water. These issues and more are raised in the discussion paper-Management of associated water produced from coal seam gas production, May 2009
